You are one of the greatest talents, to come out of the Chicago Area since The Flamingos were introduced into the music business.

I am delighted as well honored, to call you a very dear friend who I have known for many years. You're one of the greatest, and for that reason you have earned both respect as well great admiriation in all that you do in both your acreer as well in life!

Gene Chandler is 'THE DUKE", and shall always be in my book the best-the most talented-as well one of the best entertainers to have come out durng the 1960's.

I remember "Groovy Situation" when it came out in 1970, I was only seven at that time but I would always turn the radio up when it came on...what a great song, I loved it and still do. God bless Gene and keep up the good work!

Just had to add that my favorite song on my mp3 player is Nothing Can Stop Me! Very inspirational and Curtis Mayfield's writing + Carl Davis' production rivaled Motown.

I grew up listening to The Duke of Earl. You see I am the oldest daughter of Earl Edwards who wrote the song. We have amazing times listening to our father sing the song at our family gatherings. My father will celebrate his 70th birthday on May 1st. I had the pleasure of seeing you perform the song in Tunica a few years ago. The Dukays will never be forgotten. We make sure that our children and grandchildren learn all of the songs. It really would be nice if you guys would communicate with each other. May God bless you. My dad still resides in Chicago. You think we could make this happen?

Listening to XM radio when "Just Be True" slid out of the speakers. Man reminds me of the blue lite parties back in the 6o's when that 45rpm came on, you looked for the foxiest lady to slow grind with. You are one of my heroes, keep the jam going on and always just be true to yourself.

Hey Gene, Just found and purchased a CD with To Be a Lover. I remember it from the summer of 1967 and have always loved it. I just wanted to say Thank You for your music which was popular during the best times in my life. The memories of the things I did and the loves I had brings a smile to my lips and a song in my heart. Thank You for helping make my life complete.

I prayed for you today! You came across my mind, I decided to get on the web to see what ever happened to one of my favorite singers. I'm glad to know that you're 'just fine'. I have a nice collection of your original 45's. From time to time I'll pull out Rainbow 65. It's good to know that 'HE'(God) provides a rainbow after every situation. Thanks for allowing us to feel the love. Much love back at ya! DIL

I'm still feeling thrills from your performance at the Kimmel Center in Philly a few years ago. My ex was with me; he had a singing group with his brothers. When I was screaming while you were onstage, he said, "You're acting like you like him better than me." Well, I did, and I still do. Whenever you're near Philly, I'll be there. You stole the show at the Kimmel Center. I can understand why they you put you last on the bill. Nobody could follow you. It took me all this time to discover you. I hope that you (The Four Kings) get booked in BB King's Blues Club in NYC. There are fewer and fewer venues that book black musicians; BB King's used to book many great black performers. I saw Wilson Pickett there a few years ago. Now they book a lot of white cover bands. But they still book black acts; I just saw Morris Day and the Time there. Please have your agent get you booked there. It's a good venue. I love you, I love you!!! Thank you for being so great!!!
