I saw you at the Cala Gran and wanted so much to hold your hand. You gave us the songs we wanted to hear but somehow I felt a tear. We love your songs, your voice and most of all you for bringing us SOUL music at it's best.

Gene: My husband and I have been listening to your music every day for about a year. We started with you and Curtis Mayfield, then branched into your music from the eighties. We think you are one of the best singers ever. Over and over, we play "Good For You". Love this record. In light of the tragic events of September 11th, we would love to have you re-release "I'll Remember You". We think that record is highly appropriate and would mean a lot to so many who lost their loved ones. Think about it, please!, or I'ma Rare Back and BUST.... In the mean time, we'll keep listening. See you in Atlantic City. LOVE YA!

Hi ,
I see that you are due in U.K. in October.
I'd just love to see you perform live.
Can you tell me where you are appearing?
Thanks.

Also , have you ever met with Van Morrison.
In some of his live performances of All in the Game
he pays tribute to you with a version of Rainbow inserted in the middle of the song.

Hi Gene,

I ran your monitor mix at Bally's the other night, and I just wanted to let you know what a treat it was to get to work with you and your fantastic band.

Hope you come back to NOLA soon!

Best of luck,

Happy Birthday to "The DUKE". I too am a big fan of yours and have enjoyed your music for many, many years. I'm very glad to know that you are still performing and getting such rave reviews. I sing with an 5-man Doo-wop group and we get a SUPER response when we do your "Duke of Earl". Everyone identifies so strongly with that song!!! We're doing a 4Th of July concert tomorrow and we'll be sure to remind our audience of your birthday on the 6th and invite them to join us in wishing you a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Thanks for all the great music thru the years and may God bless you even more. A Loving Fan, Larry Jones.

Mr. Chandler,
Just wanted to wish you the happiest of birthdays. I've was a fan even before my R&B group used to sing "Night Owl" at the talent shows. When my girlfriend (now my wife of 32 years) decided she was going to leave her boyfriend and date me, the first thing she did was go to the Campus Grill and play "What Now?" Thanks for being a part of my life, and again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

All the best;

I want to wish you a happy b-day on July 6. I'll make sure I'll play a song or two on my show this Thursday night
on WHPK. I'm doing a tribute to Chicago soul , so I got to play some of your music.
BTW, I'll be celebrating my b-day in a few weeks. I'm a cancer too. Keep up the great work.
